Pickled red onion
Raw onion repeats on many people. Macerating the onion in this mixture should prevent the onion repeating after eating.
1 red onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ cup DYC White Vinegar
Peel the onion, cut in half and slice finely.
Mix the salt, sugar and vinegar together in a bowl.
Mix in the onion to coat the onion slices.
Leave to macerate for 1 hour.
Drain. Use the onion tossed through salad ingredients.
